HNY Scores Quickest 100! | Day 4 Collections

Shah Rukh Khan’s magnum opus Happy New Year comfortably crossed the Rs 100 crore-mark in its first three-day run. The film amassed Rs 108.86 crore over the weekend, including Rs 2.92 crore from its Telugu dub and Rs 1.84 crore from its Tamil dubs.

The film opened with a crackling Rs 42.62 crore in Hindi on Friday, and continued to show its might on Saturday where it collected Rs 36 crore from the Hindi circuit. On Sunday, the numbers experienced a drop and the film collected only Rs 26 crore, thanks to its three-hour run which bars cinema halls from having too many late evening shows.

The film has beaten the record set by Aamir Khans Christmas bonanza, Dhoom 3, produced by Yash Raj Films that also distributed Happy New Year. It had collected Rs 36 crore on its opening day and netted Rs 97 crore through its first weekend. Shah Rukh with his film has only upped the benchmark further, and this, just two months before Aamir Khans Christmas outing PK hits cinemas. The ball is now in AKs court!
